This second workshop is an invitation to take part in an open dialogue on Energy Efficiency with an outstanding mix of cross-interdisciplinary expertise:

Jan Rotmans (Expert in the field of integrated modelling, scenario-analysis, uncertainty-analysis and –management, Scientific Director of DRIFT, Dutch Research Institute For Transitions)
James Scott Brew (Expert in sustainable design in historic, commercial, institutional, and residential architecture. Head of the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Built Environment Team Design & Planning Studio)
and Egbert Lox (Vice-president Group Research and Development Umicore)

• 09:30 Energy efficiency as result of management: transition management and innovation in function of a better society through a mix of top-down & bottom-up thinking: Jan Rotmans (Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands)
• 10:15 Paradigm shifts in the market and design of sustainable building - James Scott Brew (Rocky Mountain Institute, Boulder, USA)

• 11:15 Coffee break

• 11:30 Eco-efficient optimization of metal industry: Egbert Lox (Umicore, Belgium)
• 12:45 Panel Discussion
• 13:00 Apero & Walking lunch

The Energy Efficiency project is a joint project by Brussels Capital Region, CROSSTALKS and Flanders District of Creativity with VITO, UGENT, IBBT as structural partners and 3E and BURO II as supporting partners. 
Crucial in this project is the bottom-up approach and cross-disciplinary method of developing a long term vision on the necessity of energy efficiency at any level of a global and ecological oriented society.
