Open call for Museums, Exhibition Centers and Art Galleries to submit information about the exhibitions on Technology-based art held during 2008, to be included in the publication ARS ANTHOLOGY, the almanac 2008.

VideoArtWorld is a unique organization strongly focused on establishing the value of Technology-based Art and its historical significance. It is responsible for developing conferences, exhibitions, resources, specialized fairs and symposiums in diverse countries, bringing together a great number of renowned critics, curators, collectors, dealers and other professionals in the field.

ARS ANTHOLOGY - the almanac 2008 is its latest initiative: A mint printed publication that includes illustrated reviews, critic essays and press releases from the most representative exhibitions held at museums, institutions and art galleries during the year 2008 on Technology-based art.

Curated by Macu Moran, founder and director of VideoArtWorld, this annual publication means an effort to create a useful resource that serves as reflection and documentation on the activity of this attractive industry Worldwide.

You are now cordially welcomed to submit your related exhibitions. April 30th, 2009 would be the final deadline to submit essays and images (300dpi) to be included in the publication. Exhibitions submitted should have been taking place during 2008, and have approached at least one of the following practices: Audiovisual Art, Interactive Art, Robotic Art, Bio Art, Nano Art, Virtual Art, Time-based Art and other Technology-based Art.

ARS ANTHOLOGY
official presentation will take place at Art Lobby of Art 40 Basel, along with a specialists’ talk on the bridges between art and sciences. Participants will include Do n Foresta, founder of the research artist and coordinator of MARCEL (Multimedia Art Research Centres and Electronic Laboratories) and Michael Doser, Deputy Director, Physics Dept. CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research).

Conscious about the need of a historic reference for these sort of creations, many are the entities that have already supported this pioneering project, including Eyebeam, ZKM Center for Art and Media, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, TATE Modern, San Francisco MoMA, Palazzo delle Esposizioni Rome, Serpentine Galery, Claremont Museumof Art, Castello di Rivoli Museo di Arte Contemporanea, New Museum, NBK Berlin, Foundation Cartier, Fundación Jumex, Spazio Oberdan, 911 media arts center, Sonar Barcelona, Hangar Biccocca, The Beall Center Fo r Art and Technology, as well as galleries such as Haunch of Venison, Lisson, Victoria Miro, Marco Noire, Helga de Alvear, La Fabrica, SBC, Lipanje Puntin, Think 21, Pack, Contemporaneo de Venecia, etc.

We know that this publication will be issued for the years to come, confident in the design, writings and selections that it will include from the very first issue. Your support at this early stage of the project will be highly appreciated.

The publication is to be a satin paperback with landscape format (11.7 x 8.3 inches) with a retail price of approx. 50 USD. Contributors purchasing additional exposure space will receive a complimentary copy on request. Insertions fees are indeed exceptional:
