PIPELINE SECURITY SPECIALIST WORKSHOP

Midan Hotel Suites,  Muscat, Oman; 8th - 12th November 2009

INTRODUCTION

Oil & gas producers and pipeline operating companies appreciate the consequences of attacks on pipeline networks; however few have managed to teach security personnel 'on the ground' how to identify key vulnerability locations and how to recognise methods of target assessment and attack from the perspective of the pipeline network adversary.

HPI, a leader in international pipeline security consultancy, has developed an intensive workshop to train energy security personnel in the protection of pipeline networks.

KEY TRAINING PRINCIPLE

"Think like your adversary"

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This is an intense five module training workshop.

It is composed of lectures and team projects.

The workshop has a high level of candidate assessment

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The training team presents the material in a building block format addressing all phases of pipeline projects. The training includes the security challenges and adversary methodology that may be encountered in each project phase.

The training team then introduces the Pipeline Security Specialist TeamTM Concept which provides candidates with specialised techniques to identify potential vulnerabilities, deter adversaries, respond to incidents, analyse incident location data, and to recognise and collect incident.

OTHER WORKSHOPS IN 2009:

CYPRUS

THE PRECEPT EXPERIENCE

Elysium Resort Paphos, Cyprus; 16th - 19th November

One of the two core abilities anyone needs to posses (whether in a leadrship position or not) in the 21st century are the abilities to influence people in their team or organisation and to communicated with impact. Coaching has become the skill be which one can use in order to increase the performance of his/her team. It helps bring out the best in people in a team thus contributing toward achieving a competitive advantage because it increases productivity, quality and relations within the working environment.

Communicating with impact builds trust and cooperation even during challenging times. Without it, important information is lost, work is delayed, conflict arises and business is lost. Communication becomes a challenge when we need to persuade or influence people with a different perception, communication style, way of thinking or mentality than ours. The communication situation may become emotional and we need to learn to deal with it in an effective way without causing negative consequences.
