.

http://culturadigital.org.br/en/#!/chamada-publica/

The scheduling of activities of a festival like CulturaDigital.Br is an ever going process. Through the Open Call we expect to give a collaborative character to our scheduling, as well as to map some of the projects, ideas and networks that operate in the intersection between culture, politics and technology around the world to share this information on our website.

A team of curators will be in charge of analyzing each submission and tracing the common and complementary points between the projects in order to contemplate the multiple perspectives of digital culture.

The selected projects will count on coverage of transportation to Rio de Janeiro and accommodation costs during the event. Food and other expenses should be borne by each participant.

We welcome submissions from producers and collectives from all over the world in the following categories:

Network Meet-ups

Redes CulturaDigital.Br, people, groups, collectives and institutions that want to present their ideas can meet to discuss and broaden their fields of action. This section is dedicated to digital culture experiences and will embrace both already active networks and projects of prospective networks in a space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Workshops

Workshops and practical activities will lead the section HandZone CulturaDigital.Br. Our goal is to promote the critical appropriation of technology and foment the use of free digital tools. A basic infrastructure – internet, desks, chairs, projectors, microphone and screen – will be provided. In case your project requires additional equipment, it’s necessary to specify it in the submission form.

Experience Exchange

At MAM-Rio’s movie theater, the representative members of projects and initiatives of global _expression_ will have 15 minutes to present their work. This section aims at the following subjects and their relation to digital culture: education, public policies, art, communication, social development, new productive arrangements, activism, digitalization of cultural assets and free culture. There will be a special round for the presentation of academic researches to which we’ll issue certificates of participation.

Visualities

In a tent seat at the free space of MAM-Rio, Vjs, Djs and multimedia producers can show their work. During the festival, this will be a space dedicated to collective creation and audiovisual experiments that bring in the various aspects of digital culture.

IF YOU THINK YOUR PROJECT SHOULD BE FEATURED IN THE FESTIVAL BUT IT DOESN’T FIT ANY OF THE LISTED CATEGORIES, SUBMIT IT ANYWAY. FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST OTHER FORMS OF PARTICIPATION BY CONTACTING US.              APPLY HERE!
