JOIN THE CIVIL SOCIETY INTERNET FORUM! ====================================== The Civil Society Internet Forum (CSIF) is a new international Internet community launched in July 2000. It has two basic goals: 1. to make the Internet a ground and instrument for global civil society beyond national boundaries; 2. and to work for the democratization of the Internet and Internet governance. THE CSIF AND THE 2000 ICANN ELECTIONS ====================================== Regarding the coming At-Large elections of the ICANN Board, CSIF is providing a global framework for promoting democratic participation in the elections. There are global and regional forums for information-sharing and debate. The CSIF is currently holding an online discussion on pro-civil society, pro-development candidates for each region. We call on NGOs, groups and individuals to join us so that together we can campaign for civil society representation on the ICANN board. TIME IS SHORT! ============== We only have until August 14 to discuss additional candidates! HOW TO JOIN THE CSIF ===================== Anyone who agrees with the CSIF mission, can join the CSIF. Please send an email to csif-l-request@jca.apc.org. Write 'subscribe' in the body of the email, and do not include a subject.
