The Community Partnership Center (CPC) at the University of Tennessee is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual for a unique opportunity as Program Coordinator for the Participatory Research and Planning Program and Youth in Development Initiative.

The CPC is internationally recognized as a leader in approaches that promote greater public participation in community development, planning, public policy and research. The CPC was recognized as a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development national best practices recipient in 2000 (one of only four university based centers in the United States to receive such an honor). The CPC has developed several innovative models for engaging community members in civic issues and social change that have been featured at international conferences and workshops, and highlighted in professional, academic and government publications in the United States and abroad. The CPC works with a network of over 1,000 community development, planning, public management, social service and public policy practitioners from 47 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 53 nations.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of both the Participatory Research and Planning Program and the Youth in Development Initiative.

The current deadline for accepting applications has been extended to Friday, June 15, 2001. Interviews will be conducted during the month of June and final hiring decisions will be made during the week of June 18, 2001.
