[Nettime-bold] for all you "anti-globalization" activists

bill griffith on cbnc just made an interesting comment.  he was talking to an international economist about the wto.  he asked the economist ... "what should consumers and investors" be concerned about ... what should they be focusing on ... what is the wto doing that is going to affect them???????  the economist pointed to the pharmacology industry ... where US companies may have to make pricing concessions to developing countries (thus potentially adversely affecting stocks in that industry) ... 

 

the part that i found interesting was the way bill griffith qualified his question, "what should consumers and investors" be concerned about ....

 

he didn't say what should "people" be concerned about ... he didn't say what should "citizens" be concerned about ...  

 

its almost like he knows (and maybe even respects) the larger issues facing the wto ... but willnot/cannot focus on the larger social issues in his role as a business reporter

 

its clear to me that bill griffith was appealing to me as a consumer and investor

 

my question to the "anti-globalization" folks is ... who are you appealing to?

 

what higher (or lower) self [in me] are you appealing to? 

 

marketing101 ... know your audience ... develop your message
