A mythological play
The play is inspired by Iliade d' Homère. Giraudoux adapted the situations and the characters of the
ancient legend.
A today play
Through the Antiquity, the play reflects distressing it gone up dangers in Europe of 1935, and all
the situations of threatening, poked or alleviated conflicts.
A tragedy and a comedy
The part is a tragedy by its subject, the war, by the place of the destiny and the impotence of the
men. It is a comedy by the lightness and the drolery of certain dialogues and the wild satire of
warmongering.
Far from the images and crash of the medias, far from multimedia games or plays, far from the noisy
demonstrations and the "combats d'opérette", just the conviction from day to day that the war will
not take place, just write anothers stories.
