<nettime> copyright wanking

hi ppl

at this point in the discussion i would like to just a little salt to the
gushing wound of hurt copyright-holder-egos: 

maybe the artist/writer/musician that gets paid thru the channels of
copyright agencies and such only gets the money for the sole reason that
she/he has the tenacity, time and patience to hawk their intellectual
product long enough for somebody at the TowersOfIntellectualPower to
notice and throw them a bone.  meanwhile, other people just do things,
publish them thru their own channels, make it available for free and
actually have an audience/response based on interest rather than promotion
machinery.
