<nettime> Plug: Do we need XML ?

The old MIME page on streamin etc simplified. It now reads:

Do we need XML ? How to display silent movies with audio:

             Netscape, Edit, Preferences, Navigator, Applications.

   MIME Types and Helpers

    1. MPEG audio filelists with MIME type audio/x-mpegurl and extension
       m3u. All usual mp3 players.
MPEG video filelists with MIME type video/vnd.mpegurl and
extension mxu. You have to role your own.

       This Code is Law.

Microsofts Windows Media Player does display MPEG video in MPEG
       audio filelists.
       Real supports video/vnd.rn-realvideo and ram.
Description of a metafile for one single MPEG video file with the
       extension m1v at www.pockettv.com/stream.
    2. Metafile of the W3C with MIME type application/smil and extension
       smi. Quicktime, Real.
How MPEG is Real on Unix ? More fun with VRML.
