<nettime> Microsoft fights to promote indie bands

Brenner Adams, product planner for the Microsoft Xbox game Amped, on
why the company is using the music of small-label bands and paying
them little or nothing for the rights:

"We're not saying, `Hey, we want to use your music for nothing,' "
Mr. Adams said. "We said, `Hey, we really want to promote these
artists and promote who they are and what they stand for.' "
