Re the BBC take on pensions reform


The irony of this, is that the Conservative governments of Thatcher and
Major made privatization of social security (pensions) a primary policy
goal.  The policy was initially extended by the proto-Conservative
government of Tony Blair, until the financial disaster became too large to
ignore.  Now, Blair is faced with the difficult task of figuring out how to
turn back the clock on this ridiculous policy, while also facing an
increasing number of broke, elderly retiring boomers who thought they could
retire with some small amount of security, and are now applying for jobs at
Sainsburys.  

Ronda, the BBC story was about internal British politics, not US politics.
