2) A picture from the Micro and Macro Cosmos of Robert Fludd (1617) explaining the art of memory. The imaginative eye sees: the tower of Bable, Tobias and the Angel, an obelisk, a storm at sea and the last judgement. Now the combination of these images suggest a meaning that seems to get lost at the moment you try to express it in words. The meaning of pictures depent on the context in which they are used, so the meaning changes. The phenomena of combination of images points to a level of meaning other than spoken language or words and the unspoken visual context might as well be dependent for its meaning on a pure visual contextualization.
