Els Segadors (Los Segadores), el video de Coco Fusco, será presentado en el 
Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Barcelona  a partir del 16 de septiembre, 2002 
como parte de la muestra de las nuevas adquisiciones de la colección 
permanente.

Els Segadors (The Reapers), a video by Coco Fusco, will be on view at the 
Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona as part of its exhibition of recent 
adquisitions of the permanent collection that opens on September 16, 2002.

"Coco Fusco's video The Reapers seems unpromisingly casual, but turns out fo 
be both subtle and entertaining. Shot in a studio in Barcelona, it features 
hired actors trying to sing the Catalan national anthem, but mostly talking. 
As they reveal the ways that their skin tones aor accests make them more or 
less acceptable to the Catalan community, the eclusionary side ofthis 
oppressed, exclusded culture is revealed, but so is the way culture and 
identity are continually altered by actual people."
