Conditions of Reception
SMBA, May 4, starting at 8 p.m.
Â
Open discussion with Hala Elkoussy, Igor DobriÄiÄ, Chaos Y. Chen*, Hristina Ivanoska and Suzanne van de Ven (host)
Â
Focus of this evening is the complex relation between the notions 'origin of work' and 'interpretation' within the realms of contemporary international cultural traffic. How could one actually define 'origin' and what construction could be understood as underlying 'interpretation'? If the reception of artistic produceÂcould be understood as a solidification of interpretations within a specific context, then how could one dissect and get pastÂ'conditions of reception'?
