The International Women's Electroacoustic Listening Room Project

The International Women's Electroacoustic Listening Room Project (WEALR) features day-long non-stop playback of works by women composers throughout the globe in electroacoustic music. The Listening Room strives to present a diverse sampling of different approaches to electronic music by women composers and serves as a space for collective reflection. As part of this day, Pamela Madsen, creator of the Listening Room in California, USA, will discuss the concept, history of WEALR, significant composers, and issues of women in music technology.

Where: BIMhuis in the Muziekgebouw, studio 1, Amsterdam, the Netherlands
When: 29 June 2006 from 11.00 am - 16.30 pm

This is the first time the WEALR will be presented in The Netherlands. WEALR goes to Beijing and Shanghai in October '06.
The Dutch version of the WEALR is produced by Stichting Vrouw en Muziek en voLsap.
