Schrijf mee aan een nieuwe woonwet!

Deze bijeenkomst is onderdeel van een project over kraak- en huisvestingswetgeving van kunstenares en activist Adelita Husni-Bey, in samenwerking met Casco. Gezamenlijk wordt er aan een nieuwe Europese wet over leegstand en het recht op huisvestiging geschreven. In plaats van de inruilwaarde van het pand, wordt de gebruikswaarde van het huis weer voorop gesteld. 

De tweede bijeenkomst vindt plaats in Amsterdam in M4gastatelier, een residentie in voormalig kraakpand Tetterode. De bijeenkomst wordt gefaciliteerd door The Front Line i.s.m. Kulter en M4.

Het onderwerp van deze zaterdag is âDe-criminalising the subjectâ. De deelnemers worden uitgenodigd om naar specifieke wetsartikelen uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Nederland en Spanje te kijken, waarin kraken verboden en gecriminaliseerd wordt. De commissie zal het âgecriminaliseerde onderwerpâ wat door de anti-kraak wet geproduceerd wordt analyseren en doet een aanzet voor alternatief wetsartikel.

Over het project:
Het project White Paper: The Law door Husni-Bey ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Casco, richt op de toenemende privatisering en juridische bescherming van privaat eigendom. Die ontwikkeling komt onder andere tot uiting in het in Nederland in 2010 doorgevoerde kraakverbod, maar ook in vergelijkbare manifestaties van de huisvestingscrisis elders in Europa.

De eerste vijf publieke schrijfsessies richten zich elk op een specifiek deelonderwerp. De zesde bijeenkomst is bedoeld voor de redactie van het hele wetsvoorstel. Voor elke bijeenkomst is er een commissie samengesteld uit juristen, krakers, sans-papiers, activisten en leden van het publiek. Per sessie hopen zij een opzet te kunnen maken voor tenminste ÃÃn wetsartikel.

Come write a new housing law!

This meeting is part of a project on squatting and housing legislation by artist and activist Adelita Husni-Bey in cooperation with Casco. Together we will write a new European law on housing rights and the use of property that emphasizes the use-value of housing as opposed to its function as a means of financial speculation.
The second meeting takes place in Amsterdam at M4gastatelier, a residency in the former squat Tetterode. The gathering is hosted by The Front Line in cooperation with Kulter and M4. 

The topic of this saturday is âDe-criminalising the subjectâ. The participants will look at specific legislation from the UK, the Netherlands, and Spain which prevents and criminalizes squatting. The committee will analyze the âcriminal subjectâ that is produced by squatting legislation and it will seek to write an act which defines both the space and subject of squatting.

About the project: 
The project White Paper: The Law by Husni-Bey developed with Casco focuses on contesting the enclosures of private property imposed by the 2010 squatting ban in the Netherlands and similar crackdowns across Europe. 

The Public Drafting Meetings evolve around themes specific to each of the five sessions with a sixth for revising the law. For each meeting there is a committee made up of participants that include jurists, squatters, sans-papiers, activists, and members of the public. Per session we aim to write at least one article for the law and revision exisiting articles.
