Global Priority, an international contemporary exhibition, explores the intersection between the personal and the ‘global’. The show works to empower personal networks and to provide an opportunity to engage with work by artists from many parts of the globe. The show is thought of as a process, an open table where artists are invited to share observations, commentary and insights that refer to some aspect of the intersection between globalization and the individual. The exhibition provides views of this juncture from different angles and while each piece raises its own questions and issues, the show’s use of dialogue and networks underscores the power and potency of human empathy in this age of hyper-connectivity and information technology.
52 artists from about 30 countries are participating in Global Priority. The artists are: Abelardo Morell Andries Botha Antonio Muntadas Ayelet Zohar Bhupen Khakhar Cadence Giersbach Cecilia Galiena Cesare Pietroiusti Cosmin Gradinaru Dan Perjovschi Daniel Bozhkov Dennis Del Favero Dino Bruzzone Edie Winograde El Anatsui Èlis Parrè Ellen Brooks Farah Hatam Garciela Iturbide Geroge Mead Moore Gian Paolo Minelli Hiroshi Yoshimizu Igor Makarevich & Elena Elagina Ilona Lovas Ingmar Bruhn Ion Godeanu Jennifer Jaia Chen Joanna Rajkwska Juri Kim Kathryn Chan Kati Szekelyi Kerry James Marshall Kim Sooja Larry Sultan Mark Dion Nalini Malani Olu Oguibe Oona Grimes Paul Isenrath Pierre Antoine Rashid Rana Resina Silveira Rutherford Chang Sandra Ramos Seong Chun Skowmon Hastnan William Kentridge Wonchul Jung Xu Bing Yasutaka Sato Yumi Tohayama Yungshu Chao
