Cosmin CostinaÅ (born 1982, Satu Mare, Romania) is a curator and writer. He is the curator of BAK, basis voor actuele kunst since early 2009, where he is currently preparing expo zÃro by Boris Charmatz/MusÃe de la danse and a solo exhibition of Rabih MrouÃ. He studied art history and history at BabeÅ-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and is contributing editor of the magazines Idea Arts + Society (Cluj) and Version (Paris/Cluj), and an advisory board member of PATTERNS/ERSTE Foundation, Vienna. CostinaÅ was one of the editors of the magazines project of documenta 12, Kassel in 2005â2007. He co-authored the novel Philip (2007) and has contributed his writing to numerous magazines, books, and exhibition catalogs across Europe and South East Asia. Recent curatorial projects include: After the Final Simplification of Ruins. Forms of historiography in given places, Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea, Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2009; Mona VÄtÄmanu and
 Florin Tudor: Surplus Value, BAK, Utrecht, 2009; The Demon of Comparisons, Electric Palm Tree, Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA) and University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, 2009; Like an Attali Report, but different: On fiction and political imagination, Kadist Art Foundation, Paris, 2008; Laicitate dupa complicitate (Secularity after Complicity), Bucharest, 2005; co-curator of the conference After the Happy Nineties, Goethe Institute, Bucharest, 2005; and Textground, Display Gallery, Prague, 2004. CostinaÅ lives and works in Amsterdam and Utrecht.

Cosmin Costinas will discuss the issues surrounding the realization of two of his curatorial projects, Like an Attali Report, but different: On fiction and political imagination at Kadist Art Foundation in Paris, in the summer of 2008 and After the Final Simplification of Ruins. Forms of historiography in given places at Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in late 2009. Costinas will look at the intellectual and contextual premises behind the projects, at the questions and dilemmas that came along during the work, as well as at the curatorial methodology employed.

Forms of historiography in given places au Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea a Vitoria-Gasteiz (Espagne), fin 2009. Il traitera des prÃmisses intellectuelles et contextuelles de ses projets, des questions et des dilemmes qui sont apparus pendant la mise-en-Åuvre et, Ãgalement, de la mÃthodologie curatoriale utilisÃe.

La confÃrence est organisà par Sorana Munteanu et Julia Villasenor-Bell, Ãtudiantes du Master 2 Sciences et techniques de l'exposition de l'Università Paris 1 PanthÃon Sorbonne, sous la direction de Mme FranÃoise Docquert. EntrÃe libre dans la limite des places disponibles.
