Ãn cadrul *CHI**È**INÄU-ArtÄ, Cercetare Ãn Sfera PublicÄ* artistul *Ghenadie
POPOESCU* va prezenta proiectul - *ARCUL  de  TRIUMF.* O acÈiune ce va
activa cu ajutorul publicului o machetÄ a Arcului de Triumf prin care
artistul Èi-a propus sÄ chestioneze starea de instabilitate existentÄ Ãn
societate. Este simptomatic cÄ aceastÄ instalaÈie suspendatÄ Èi acÈiunea
publicÄ ce vor avea loc de ziua independenÈei reprezintÄ Ãn viziunea
artistului un simbol al statalitÄÅii, independenÅei Èi haina  de paradÄ a
guvernÄrii de orice pigmentaÈie politicÄ.

 Ulterior instalaÈia va fi donatÄ municipalitÄÅii pentru un viitor Muzeu de
ArtÄ ContemporanÄ.

discursurilor instituÅionale Åi politice dominante care au modelat
societatea Åi peisajul urban al ChiÅinÄului pe parcursul istoriei recente.
Proiectul este activat sub forma unei platforme multidisciplinare care Åi-a
propus investigarea conexiunilor dintre simbolurile politice Åi propagandÄ,
la fel Åi impactul acestora asupra mediului urban, interrelaÅia dintre
istoriile personale Åi discursul ideologic Ãn raport cu sfera publicÄ.

*The Triumphal Arch by Ghenadie POPESCU*

A project in the frame of *CHIÅINÄU- Art, Research in the Public Sphere*

In the frame of *CHIÅINÄU- Art, Research in the Public Sphere *the artist* *
*Ghenadie POPESCU* will present the project - *The Triumphal Arch*. With
this action the artist is going to activate (with the help of involved
public) the model of the Triumphal Arch trough which he is looking to
question the state of instablity in the society. Symptomaticaly this
suspended installation and public action that will took place during the
Independence Day reprezent acording to artist opinion a symbol of state,
independence and the coat of arms of state administration of any political
colour. Later on the installation will be donated to the municipality for
the future Museum of Contemporary art.

platform that investigates the connections between political and cultural
symbols and propaganda and its impact on the urban environment, the
interference between personal narratives and imported ideologies and
cultural discourses in relation to the public sphere. The project aim is to
explore the dominant institutional and political discourses that have shaped
the society and the urban landscape of the city of ChiÅinÄu in the course of
its recent history.
