NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT in dialog cu Andrei Craciun

O discutie despre situatia politica a scenei muzicale si un mod
critic de gandire a acesteia. Analizand strategii reprezentationale,
dialogul va explora subiecte precum natura si statusul muzicii
independente, rasism si sexism in piata muzicala si maketing-ul
artistilor de culoare, motivati politic. 

Formata in 2008, trupa londoneza NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT este un
parteneriat muzical intre Yin Neurotic (voce & synth) si David
Neurotic (quitar). Impreuna, ei au gasit o abordare
emotional-intuitiva a muzicii realizand un sunet unic. Vocea intensa
si sunetul dramatic al chitarii balanseaza stilistic intre muzica
electro si avant-rock, intre atmosfere eterice si ritmuri abrazive.
Intrebat recent intr-un interviu care sunt influentele muzicii sale,
David Neurotic a raspuns: “sunt multe influente dar Tristan Tzara,
Le tonneau de la haine (Charles Baudelaire) si Scooby Doo imi vin acum
in minte”

NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT au inceput inregistrarea primului lor EP,
TYRANNY OF GRAVITY, in studioul din Berlin al lui Sebastian Lee
Philipp, compozitor si producator, membru al trupei Noblesse Oblige,
EP planuit sa apara la inceputul lui 2012. 

Andrei Craciun este manager cultural, studiaza antropologie la
Universitatea Bucuresti. A curatoriat recent proeictele "Destroying
Public Harmony" la Muzeul Brukhental si "Utopia of Exotic" la PAVILION
UNICREDIT. Din 2008 a fost numit coordonator al PAVILION UNICREDIT.
Traieste si lucreaza in Bucuresti.

NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT in dialogue with Andrei Craciun

A talk focused on the political issues and critical thinking of the
musical scene. Analyzing the representational strategies, the dialogue
will explore topics, such as the nature and state of independent
music, racism and sexism in the music business and the marketing of
non-white and politically motivated artists.

The London based band, NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT comprises of the
songwriting partnership of Yin Neurotic and David Neurotic. Together
they have developed an emotional and intuitive approach to music which
has to be seen, heard and witnessed. Singer Yin Neurotic iconoclastic
live performances and David Neurotics uncompromising musicianship
underpins and cajoles the NMM sound. Asked recently in an interview
what his guitar influences were, he said: "there are many influences,
but Tristan Tzara, Le Tonneau de la Haine and Scooby Doo, spring to
mind"... 

NEUROTIC MASS MOVEMENT have started recording their first EP, TYRANNY
OF GRAVITY in Berlin with Sebastian Lee Philipp producer and musician
of Noblesse Oblige.

Andrei Craciun, cultural manager, he studies anthropology at
Bucharest University. He curated hi recent projects "Destroying Public
Harmony" at Brukhental Museum and "Utopia of Exotic" at PAVILION
UNICREDIT. Since 2008 he is the coordinator of PAVILION UNICREDIT.
Lives and works in Bucharest.
