Centrul pentru Cultura Contemporana Club Electro Putere si Carturesti
anunta lansarea albumului de arta Romanian Cultural Resolution, luni, 21
noiembrie orele 19.00 la Carturesti (Mansarda) din Str. Arthur Verona,
13-15, Bucuresti.

In cadrul lansarii va avea loc o discutie libera pe tema contextului artei
Alexandra Croitoru, Cristian Nae, Alexandru Niculescu, Mihai Pop, Magda
Radu.

Cartea este structurata in
jurul a patru teme curatoriale realizate de Adrian Bojenoiu, Mihnea Mircan,
Mihai Pop si Magda Radu in expozitia Romanian Cultural Resolution, produsa
de catre Club Electro Putere in parteneriat cu Institutul Cultural Roman
Berlin, a carei deschidere a avut loc in Werkschau Spinnerei Leipzig si
Club Electro Putere Craiova.

despre o renastere si o reformare a discursului artistic contemporan, cat
pozitii aparute dupa anul 2000.

artei si culturii contemporane, o demantelare a acestei utopii a memoriei

*Book Launch: Romanian Cultural Resolution published by Hatje Cantz

Time:* Monday, 21 November 2011, 19.00

*Venue:* Carturesti, Arthur Verona St., 13-15, (Attic)/ Bucharest

The Centre for Contemporary Culture Club Electro Putere and Carturesti are
happy to announce the release of the Romanian Cultural Resolution art
album, Monday, November 21st, at 19:00, at Carturesti (attic), Arthur
Verona St., 13-15, Bucharest.

The release features a debate on the context of contemporary Romanian art,
with the following invited speakers: Bojenoiu Adrian, Alexandra Croitoru,
Cristian Nae, Alexandru Niculescu, Mihai Pop and Magda Radu.

Romanian Cultural Resolution is a publication which builds on a research
project tracking Romanian art, in both the social and political transition
generated by the fall of communism, and in some isolated cultural events,
independent of it. The book's structure revolves around four curatorial
themes developed ââby Adrian Bojenoiu, Mihnea Mircan, Mihai Pop and Magda
Radu within the Romanian Cultural Resolution exhibition, produced by Club
Electro Putere in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute in
Berlin, whose opening took place in Werkschau Spinnerei Leipzig and Club
Electro Putere Craiova.

The release of this book corresponds to a moment from a series of events
generated by initiatives meant to meet the ever-growing interest in Eastern
European art, implicitly in Romanian art. Commencing from the idea that the
cultural speech of the East, with the fall of the Iron Curtain, has formed
on a historical and identitarian background - marked at times by national
tones - and sometimes independent of the Western cultural discourse,
Romanian Cultural Resolution highlights solutions and trends developed by
Romanian visual arts in recent years, expressing both a revival and a
reform in the contemporary artistic discourse, and a whole set of issues or
situations that illustrate the artist's precarious condition within his
local and global context. The album brings together Romanian artists from
different generations, in a subjective selection, but without claiming
exhaustivity, aiming to outline a representative vision of both the past
marked by the communist period, as well as of the new stances emerged after
2000.

Both the catalogue and the entire RCR project are based on the "cultural
resolution" concept. This entails an analysis of an already ended
manifestation, it brings up a certain retroactivity as well, which
simultaneously with the resolution, it is being questioned. The "cultural
resolution" concept marks a state of affairs and proposes an introspection
within the field of contemporary art and culture, a disassembly of this
Utopia of cultural remembrance, a pursuit to shape it and to comprehend the
contemporary artistic context of recent history in Romania.

The album was published by the prestigious German publishing house Hatje
Cantz and funded by the Publishing Romania program, of the Romanian
Cultural institute.
