Seit 15 Jahren sorgt ACT UP als politische Organisation im Kampf gegen AIDS
maßgeblich dafür, dass die Gefahren der HIV und AIDS Epidemieim öffentlichen
Bewusstsein verankert sind und bleiben. Durch spektakuläre und
medienwirksame Aktionen übt ACT UP unablässlich massiven Druckauf die
Verantwortlichen in Politik, Wirtschaft und Forschung aus.

Der New Yorker Filmemacher James Wentzy, Mitglied von ACT UP NY, zeigt in
seinem jetzt vorgelegten Dokumentarfilm eindrucksvolleArbeiten engagierter
Videoaktivisten und namhafter Filmemacher aus dieser Zeit. Es entstand ein
75 minütiges Dokument der Zeitgeschichte vollspannender und inspirierender
Beweise für die mutigen Strategien, den medialen Sachverstand und den
ausgesprochen speziellen schwulen Witz der ACT UP-Bewegung.

Der Dokumentarfilm "Fight Back, Fight AIDS: 15 Years of ACT UP" von James
Wentzy wird auf der diesjährigen Berlinale im Rahmen des Panoramas  gezeigt
