Curator of the Microwave Festival 99'

Videotage seeks candidates for the position of Curator of the
Microwave Festival 99. The curator is responsible for the
direction and programs of the Festival, which is comprised of an
international video screening, CD-ROM exhibition, seminar and
artist-in-residence workshop.

The curator is also expected to hold one seminar in video/media
art during the festival. Videotage will offer the flight ticket,
accommodation and curator fee in the amount of HK$15000.

Candidates should have strong curatorial experience with video
and media art.

The Visual Culture and Media Academic Group is seeking to appoint a
Professor in the interdisciplinary field of visual culture and media, who
will be expected to contribute expertise in the field of cultural theory,
film studies, and twentieth-century art, design and media.

Responsibilities include: research and teaching at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels; the supervision of research degree students;
contributing expertise in the fields of cultural theory, film studies, and
twentieth-century art, design and media.

Candidates should: possess a high profile in international research and
publication; have experience of teaching at postgraduate level; be familiar
with administration and curriculum development; be aware of recent
developments in research and practice in visual culture and media; and be
able to demonstrate a proven interest in the relationship between theory
and practice.

Visual Culture and Media offers degrees in a number of related programmes
from within the School of Art, Design and Performing Arts, including BA
Joint Honours subjects in Art and Design History and Film Studies; BA
History and Theory of Media, Art and Design;  BA Film Studies; MA Visual
Culture; MA Teaching Visual Culture; MA Digital Architecture; MA
Architecture and Spatial Culture; and links with the MA Fine Art and MA
Aesthetic and Art Theory.

The Online Media Manager will be responsible for creating and
implementing strategies that make electronic access a key
marketing channel and revenue generator for each of the
international entities. This person is commissioned to execute
online media programs to create brand awareness, expose Schwab to
different markets of the world and strategically target users
with high conversion potential. A successful individual will
build relationships with key strategic partners that make sense
for a local market while also providing us the ability to create
scale with worldwide online service providers.

Expertise creating and implementing effective web solutions that
increase business competitiveness and return on internet
investment. Thorough knowledge of online media success metrics,
media planning and all aspects of online media strategies in the
international arena. This will include effective domain targeting
and working with creative and innovative designs that translate
into multiple languages. Technical knowledge includes familiarity
with JavaScript, CGI scripting, server hosting, web site
architecture and navigation. A successful candidate will interact
well with coders,
vendors, agencies, translate issues for multiple internal
constituents. Strong project management and leadership
communication skills with the ability to work with individuals at
all levels. Knowledge of International financial and technology
markets helpful. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and five years
of related experience or a Master's degree and three years
experience in creative and effective online media campaigns
preferably in financial services.

Fluency in another language other than English is highly
desirable.

Group is creating a pool of part-time lecturers to teach on a variety of
courses at undergraduate level for the next academic year.

Areas of particular interest: art/design history, fashion and dress,
surrealism, cultural theory, third cinema, digital culture, experimental
film, queer cinema, film form and spectatorship, film history as well as a
number of other related areas.

There will be additional opportunities for part-time lecturers to design
and teach their own courses-especially courses that relate theories of
art/design/film to practice.

Qualifications: Experience in teaching undergraduates at H.E. level.

Salary is competitive.

The Department of Radio, Television, and Film at the University of
 North Texas seeks candidates for a one-year appointment as a Visiting
 Assistant Professor in International Media Studies. A Ph.D. or ABD in
 an appropriate field is required. A primary research and teaching
 interest in the history and theory of global media required.
