The Lovebytes Lab is a new multimedia production facility in the Workstation, Sheffield, UK. The Lab provides facilities for artists and designers working with computers and offers a wide range of hardware and software for the production of digital video, audio and multimedia. It is a friendly, creative environment promoting networking, skill sharing and collaborative projects among it's users. In addition Lovebytes' Technical Staff support people who want to learn how to use the hardware and software or take their knowledge to the next level. Workshops: This Autumn, we will be offering a series of workshops to help people learn to create CD Roms, Flash animations, web sites and Shockwave games. In addition, we will offer individual training for those who already know the basics of multimedia development but would like to improve their skills in areas such as Lingo programming, Digital Video editing, Sound design on computer-based systems like Logic Audio and Kyma. If you are interested in any of these areas email Mary at mailto:mary@lovebytes.org.uk Using Director (Shockwave & CD Roms) This course provides an overview of the Director interface and a hands-on introduction to building interactive titles. 25-26 September Animation for the Web Learn to create Flash animations, javascript rollovers and animated gifs. 9-10 October Information Design This course examines the approaches and procedures of designing and planning for interactive titles. It is strongly recommended that people take this course to prepare for the games course. 11-12 October (evenings) Games-building with Shockwave Use Director or Flash to build your own interactive game for delivery on the internet or cd-rom.
