Less than a week to go before Robodock Festival kicks off! In the
Docklands hall and outside area is already a lot of hard work going on.
The contours of the festival slowly start to appear. Although the rain
is
pouring down on the NDSM-dock, the weather forecasts are very good..

The programme is different every night. In the pre-sale the
Saturday-night
is very popular, so be quick with booking your tickets and check also
the
programme for the rest of the festival.

WWW.ROBODOCK.ORG gives you the moste updated information about
the line-up, descriptions of the acts, installations and performances
and
information of opening hours and routes.

TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE IN NEMO
Robodock has the mission to focus more and more on the crossroads
between
technology and art. The festival is already visited by many
professionals
in the field of robotics, the creative industry and the technology
organisations in the Netherlands. Robodock aims to develop this
platform,
starting with the Technology Conference in collaboration with science
center NEMO on Friday 23 September. Godfathers of robotics Stelarc and
Chico MacMurtrie both will give a lecture on the technique behind their
art. The inventer of Pips:lab Kees Duyves will discuss the new light in
new media. Science center NEMO presents a hughly advanced cyborg,

Elektra.
The maker, Richard Schaper, will also talk about the technology behind
Elektra. A  limited amount of tickets is still available.

INTERACTIVE DEMOS ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON 24 SEPTEMBER
Saturday afternoon 24 September, the Docklands hall will be one big
interactive lab. The audience can take a close look at the installations
and how they are being set up. They can ask the artists questions, take
over the control panels and be the guinea pig in experiments.

MTV COOLPOLITICS
Faster, better, cheaper. Technology makes it all possible and influences
our lives more everyday. How far should it have its effect on the human
body, our society and the environment?  Diederik Samson (PvdA), Sophie
Hilbrand (BNN) and Bas Haring (writer and tv-presenter) discuss these
questions at Robodock. =91Homo Sapiens 2.0, man as machine=92is the title
of
the debate. The debate at Robodock will be held on the topic of ethical
aspects of technology and on the issue of ICT and our privacy.
Coolpolitics is organiser of the debate, with Jan Jaap van der Wal and
Sander Lantinga as moderators. The debate takes place on the closing
night, Saturday 24 September, at midnight and is broadcasted by MTV
Netherlands on 13 October, 9 PM on MTV.

PRESS AND PUBLICITY
The first publications in the press have appeared and there are many to
come. A couple of papers, magazines and TV programmes that will pay
attention to the 8th edition of Robodock: national newspapers as
Volkskrant, the NRC Handelsblad, Het Parool, Vrij Nederland, NL20,
Stadsblad, Amsterdam Weekly, Amsterdam Times, CJP Magazine, Utrechts
Nieuwsblad, NPS, VPRO Nachtpodium, Uitkrant, Spits and Metro. Also
internationally Robodock is in the picture: journalists from Czechia,
Spain, Malaysia, Rumenia the United Kingdom have had contact with our

TICKETS AND HOURS
The entry fees for Robodock are: Wed 21 September: 15 euro, Thu 22
September 17,50 euro, Fri 23 September 20 euro and Sat 24 September 25
euro. A passepartout costs 50 euro. Opening hours: Wednesday 7 PM -  1
AM,
Thursday 7 PM- 2 AM,  Friday 5 PM =96 3 AM  and Saturday 3 PM =96 6 AM.

PRE-SALE
Robodock tickets and passepartouts are available at all big post
offices,
GWK, and a number of Tourist Information Offices. Also through
thewebsite
of Ticket Service Nederland: www.ticketservicenederland.nl. Also ticket
sale by AUB, www.aub.nl and Ticketshop on the Leidseplein, Amsterdam.

HOW TO GET THERE AND CAMPING
Please note that during Robodock, a reconstruction of the A8 and
A10roads
will take place. It may take longer to reach the NDSM-doc
