GRADUATION SHOW

The Template Culture research project sets out to celebrate, understand and critique the world of formats, standards, templates and design tools in order to make sense of a digital culture that is increasingly becoming like the contemporary airport — all the same.

DESIGN RESEARCH IN ARNHEM
Research is a very important part of the BA graphic design at ArtEZ Arnhem, but what we find even more important is to turn research into visible results. It’s what makes us designers. Through both collaborative and individual research projects, students are introduced to design-driven-research in the field of Digital Cultures. They are actively encouraged to make use of experimental methods and research models, even design their own and turn their findings into research-driven-design. The project is completed with a collaborative publication that is made available through Print-On-Demand.

THE PROGRAM
In one-and-a-half hour, a selection of 2nd year students will give short and highly visual presentations of their work: The Facebook Journal, Book Camouflage, Music for Twitter and Twikipedia are just a few examples of projects that will be featured. In conclusion the book If This Then That: Template Culture Research Project will be presented to Mieke Gerritzen (director of MOTI, Museum of the Image, Breda). This publication will be for sale in a limited edition for €15.

Every like on Facebook presents us with a smile, but nothing would top your physical presence!

Best regards and see you the 6th,

Hendrik-Jan Grievink
