There is a project a group of forward-thinking journalists I am part of are working on. There is a term in journalism that we are taught in college to believe in very strongly: The Ultimate Source. The idea is that somewhere out in the world there is someone or something with such an amazing level of understand or some incredible story to tell that they could be deemed by journalists as being their Ultimate Source.

The problem we have is can there be more than one Ultimate Source or is there simply one person in the world that has the communicative, artistic, and intellect skills necessary to get out of and refine any situation. I am initiating a project as part of a subcommittee in the group (called the Fifth Estate of Oregon) to interview every fourth person we meet, knowing that all of them have some idea of who could be the most knowledgable person in their lives.
