After-Post Rock
Mice Parade Japan Concerts
recommended by Tachibana Shiro

After last year's impressive shows with Dylan Group and Him, Mice
Parade comes on another Japan tour. Next to blood brother Dylan Cristy
(Dylan Group), the band's current line-up includes new regular member
Doug Scharin (Him), as well as German violinist Dorothea Tachler, whose
sweet string sounds gave Mice Parade's last release "Mokoondi" a fresh
new flavour. For fans it will be extremely interesting to see how these
new elements harmonise with the improvised parts in Mice Parade's
live stages....

From Isolation to an Open Country?
text by Ozaki Tetsuya

On May 22 an event including a lecture and lunch with Robert Menard was
hosted by The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Yurakucho. Menard
represents the 'Reporters Without Borders (RSF: Reporters Sans
Frontieres),' who promote the media's freedom of speech, and criticise
suppression by authorities. After specifying a number of examples,
including reports that 'more than 1000 journalists lost their lives in the
'90s,' '40 people are going through hell in Rangoon at the moment,' 'in
China several members of the system-opponent net are under arrest,'
etc., he appealed to the Japanese media to perform with a stronger sense
of duty....
