[Nettime-bold] the bad dream is over...the (online) art museum is not your friend

But why is everyone going down this 50-year-old channel? Why
stick with a model that is completely exposed as corrupt?

The relationship between artist and fan has been
intermediated for so long by promotional outlets and
marketing companies that there's a disconnect.

Artists are challenged to move to the center of the changes
that are transforming the industry, not just as would-be
superstars but as active participants. In this business, a
very limited number of artists are very successful, and a
great majority are not successful at all. It's so entrenched
it's almost impossible to see.
