Moderators: to add to Fran's idea, what about nettime-news, as
a stand-in for announcer, which must take a while to create each
week. just a thought... bc [and, no .gov or .int or .mil, not one?
 seems rather odd]

the problem of nettime bold, is that's a halfhearted patch
instead of a fullblown feature. this is less due
to a technical but a conceptual flaw.

25 subscribers literally voted that it has not much more
than symbolic use. years ago, the same happened with
the nettime-talk list.

the 'bold' archive is not operative and unfortunatly one can
only access it by subscribing to the list.

the other way arround it would make much more sense.
as an "open inbox" with a web interface only. this
way it would get transparent what is filtered out,
and people who always want to be on time, can get
the incoming msgs in raw mode.

another alternative to gain more along the dialogue
line is to feed nettime into a newsgroup,
'alt.culture.nettime' for example might get more
acceptance by usenet admins than the old 'alt.nettime'.
you could even split it into a '.raw' and '.toasted' group.

additionally msgs like this really don't fit very
well onto nettime itself, an extra 'meta' channel
would help a lot towards building up some kind
of plane of consciousness.
