<nettime> noborder activists still in prison

very bad news from italy: according to the austrian consulate in genova an
italian court has ordered that all 25 activists of the noborder-nonation
caravan that have been arrested outside genova while traveling to the
frankfurt bordercamp have to remain in custody. the activists are accused
of vandalism, endangering of public safety and membership of the 'black
block'. the court sees the activists as the hard-core of the so called
'black block'. Right now all prisoners are in allesandria, where the
hearing took place, but the female prisoners will be transferred back to
the voghera prison. the lawyer of the austrian activists has challenged
this decision and demanded a re-heraing with another judge. the italian
court has to react to this within 10 days. under italian law the activists
can be kept in prison for up to 6 month before the start of the trail.

please keep on protesting against this completely unjustified and
arbitrary treatment of our comrades and friends.
