<nettime> stem cells


As the Chretien gov't stumbles it's way through the cloning 
legislations, it makes me think that it's now time for science to 
take back it's priests, at least to help put the press at ease.

Scientists: *Getting it to all add up* and *figuring it out* are 
important; some chanting, some dark lighting, perhaps a little 
solemnity could add context to the upcoming debate over genetics, 
stem cell research, cloning, and entities human or not-human;

  -> that this research will continue is a given <-

Niche Opportunity: A new kind of science-priesthood could invest 
itself to certify practitioners in this new, dark, truly human art...
