Well said.  I read the piece when it showed up on the Guardian, and i remember feeling like it addressed real concerns but not being able to put my finger on the unease i had with the framing.  I think you hit the nail on the head – these threats are real, but we decide the framing of the discussion we're having, and as you say – talking about a faceless and unknowable "cloud fascism" denies the fact that behind these movements are flesh and blood people directing the proceedings that happen in physical data centres (or offices, or whatever), alongside us in (mostly) the same society.
