[Nettime-nl] voldoende handtekeningen voor EP-enquete naar Echelon

De Groene Fractie in het EP heeft voldoende handtekeningen verzameld voor
een parlementaire enquete naar Echelon. De vraag is nu of de twee grote
fracties het ook laten gebeuren. Groet, Richard Wouters

The Greens/EFA have reached the necessary number of signatures for the
formation of a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee on Echelon.

Following the publication of the STOA Report and the hearing organized by
the Civil Rights Committee on Echelon, the Green/EFA Group has decided to
embark on a process for the formation of a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee
on Echelon.

A press conference will be held to present the list of signatures on
Tuesday, 28 March 2000 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. in the European Parliament,
Press Briefing Room 0A50, Paul Henri Spaak Building.

Speakers will include Paul Lannoye and Heidi Hautala, Presidents of the
Green/EFA Group, Francis Wurtz, President of the GUE Group, Harlem Desir MEP
(ESP), William Abitbol MEP (UEN).
