Research internship Video Vortex

The Institute of Network Cultures has a vacancy for an intern to research online video, in preparation of the Video Vortex conference which is to be held on January 18-19 in Amsterdam: http:// www.networkcultures.org/videovortex/. As an intern, you will be occupied with the research, collection and documentation of online video usage, as well as collaborate in the production of publicity outings for the Video Vortex conference. The internship will preferably start in September 2007 and will end on February 15, 2008. An internship compensation is available.

Conference themes include film theory, new media theory, web 2.0 politics, alternative software, viral video and vlogging critique, real world tools and technologies, theory & history of the database, narrative and the cinematic, database taxonomy and navigation, internet video: art, activism, and public media.

We are looking for a student (m/f)
- with obvious affinity with and knowledge of the fields of new media and online video;
- with English language and writing skills;
- who is able to work independently
