#1
what: lecture on the work 'netzmusik' by Golo Foellmer
musical translation and realtime performance of "ein Aufnahmezustand" (original by Mauricio Kagel, 1968) by Gívan Belá and Golo Foellmer
where: A4 Bratislava, Multiplace Festival, Slovakia
when: 2/5/2008 – 8pm
more info: http://www.multiplace.sk/2008/index.php?id=2&lang=1

#2
what: Ex-Unidee artists Lieven Paelinck and Marthe Van Dessel take us on a guided tour through Brussels. An exploration of known and unknown places relating to initiatives, artists, experts, ... who are actively rethinking the city.
guest: Charif Benhelima
where: trip through Brussels with a stop at okno around 2pm for presentations
when: tuesday 6/5/2008 -- for final tour schedule consult websites

#3
what: Sonata #11 , a dancepiece based on fragments of ‘Le Cuivre et le Cuit’ (1964) by Claude Levi-Strauss. Choreography: Monika Horná - Sonorisation, spatialisation and interaction: Gívan Belá.
where: A4, Bratislava, Slovakia
when: 12/5/2008 -- 8pm
more info: http://karasssuite.net/

#4
what: workshop by IpsoFacto on interfacing with transient objects in realtime through the use of I/O devices and SuperCollider. The modelling of transient objects involves creating interfaces to gather information from the world we experience and to express processes in that same world. SuperCollider provides a powerful programming language to model behaviours of transient objects which express themselves in the audio domain. Participants to the workshop should bring their own laptops, Linux or OSX, and any I/O devices they wish to use during the workshop (game devices, CUI, Arduino, etc...).
when: 14, 15, 16 /5 -- 2pm-6pm
where: okno – koolmijnenkaai 30 quai aux charbonnages – 1080 brussels
more info: http://okno.be/?id=1216

#5
what: SE/30 is an installation by Code31, based on the principle of cellular automata. Every SE/30 is a cel that adapts to its environment and forms collaborative patterns. The sound is modulated and the images are plotted by the status of each computer that generates the sound and images. For Dorkbot, Code31 reworks the SE30 installation into a new performance: one person, one computer and a lot of generative image and sound.
where: Vooruit Ghent, Emielruimte
when: 16/5 – 8.30pm
more info: http://code31.lahaag.org/?id=799 and http://www.dorkbot.be/pivotx2/

#6
what: Sonobotanics, an interactive installation by Marije Baalman (nl) and Albert de Campo (at) + performance on openingday “Sonobotanic is a sound plant whose precise classifying properties are to be found in the auditory domain. The stalk has a sound which is most similar to a woodwind instrument, whereas its leaves have a soft, rustling kind of sound. Its flowers sound like high pitched glass drops. Furthermore, the plant has a voice with which it reacts on perceived voices from other (e.g. human) beings.”
where: okno – koolmijnenkaai 30 quai aux charbonnages – 1080 brussels
when: opening 18/5 -- 3pm (installation from 20/5 till 25/5, 2pm-6pm)
more info: http://okno.be/?id=1217

#7
what: workshop Performance Lab SuperCollider by GOTO10’s Jan-Kees Van Kampen. SuperCollider is a programming language for sound and electronic music. Excellently adapted to a contemporary environment of networks, free software and live coding, SuperCollider is an extraordinary tool in the technological artist's arsenal. The workshop will loosely integrate and extend the IpsoFacto workshop on interfacing transient objects, though attendance of both workshops is by no means required. GOTO10 is a collective of international artists and programmers, dedicated to Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) and digital arts.
when: 29-30-31/5 – 10am-5pm
where: okno – koolmijnenkaai 30 quai aux charbonnages – 1080 brussels
more info: http://okno.be/index.php?id=1236

#8
what: ‘Meshnetworks from Noise to Voice' - Lecture by Annemie Maes
where: Digital Art (Update II) – Biennial on interactive art - Kunstplatform Zebrastraat, Zebrastraat 32/001 - Ghent
when: 31/5/2008 – 2pm
more info: http://www.zebrastraat.be/

#9
what: Symbiosis #2. Performance Jan-Kees van Kampen and Arjen Keesmaat: For the second installment of Symbiosis, we invite Dutch artists Jan-Kees van Kampen (aka vacca, GOTO10) and Arjen Keesmaat for an electronic music performance.
where: okno – koolmijnenkaai 30 quai aux charbonnages – 1080 brussels
when: 01/06/2008 – 4pm
more info: http://okno.be/index.php?id=1237
