[Nettime-ro] Open competition for the Mobility Fund for Central Asia, Ca

The essence of the Mobility Fund is that the transfer of knowledge and experience should be directed primarily towards Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia.

The main goals of Mobility Fund are:

· Reinforcement of cultural dialogue and cooperation with and within Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia

· Strengthening the transfer of knowledge and competence to this region for the sake of further cultural developments there

· Promoting mobility of cultural and arts practitioners from Central Asia, Caucasus and Mongolia who want to implement innovative models of operation in their organization or institution by exploring other cultural practices

· Contributing, sharing and exchanging competencies, practices, skills and knowledge between cultural and arts practitioners from the targeted region and the rest of the Soros foundations’ network

· Investment in cultural professionals and artists, who might contribute to significant long-term sustainable changes in Central Asia, Caucasus, and Mongolia

procedures and guidelines

Applicants must be employed by a Romanian state, municipal or private non-profit cultural institution;
Basic communication skills in English or the host country’s language are required;
Applications should be filled out in English only;
Applicants should have a strong motivation and a good cause for their travel, and should submit together with the application form an invitation letter from hosting/inviting institution
There is no limit for the duration of the visit, but it should take place between the 1^st April and 30th November 2003;
The Mobility Grant amount will be decided on a case by case basis and in general it should include the necessary expenses, related to the visit (travel, visa, per diems, insurance, accommodation, and other costs concerning the stay).

Limitations

Mobility Grants are offered exclusively to professionals living and working in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia. Students from undergraduate programs and those without practical professional experience are not eligible for support.

The deadline for submitting applications is February 20, 2003, 17.00.

Applications submitted after deadline will not be considered.
