[Nettime-ro] Performing Places NEWS

Performing PlacesWe are pleased to update you on the following projects:
  a.. 1 October, 19:00
  Forward Motion. Two series of films on contemporary British dance presented as part of the BucharEST. WEST International Dance Festival. Featuring revolutionary work by world-renowned dancers and choreographers such as Russell Maliphant, Akram Kahn, Michael Clark and excerpts from the video-diary of ex-Royal ballet soloists now known as the George Piper Company.
Venue: French Institute, BUCHAREST.  Free entrance 

  a.. 2, 3 October, 20:00
  world premiere of the contemporary dance performance 
  LUME (Joc si jale) / WORLD (Game and Tragedy), opening the International Dance Festival. 
  The piece is inspired by the music of legendary Romanian folk singer Maria Tanase and an exquisite example of coooperation between UK and Romanian artists.
Venue:  Bulandra Theatre, Toma Caragiu Hall. BUCHAREST  
Choreographed by Charles Linehan, with two shorter pieces by Romanian choreographers Florin Fieroiu and Eduard Gabia, on music by Alexander Balanescu and performed live by the world-renowned Balanescu Quartet.

  a.. 5 October, 10 - 22.00
  Performing Places Festival in the Lipscani area. Rounding up our Performing Places project, the festival will raise awareness to the state of the historic centre of Bucharest as well as to the many creative, imaginative ways in which events can bring new life into the area.
Please feel free to invite all your friends and support our plea for a lively historic Bucharest! The programme of the day will be available as of 1 October.
