[Nettime-ro] leonardo project placement


*Leonardo Project Placements*

Galeria Grigore Mora was successful in its application to the Leonardo da
Vinci European Programme and is now inviting romanian artists to interview
for a three week visit to London in November 2006 to attend training
placements at Free Form Arts Trust, London.

Artists wishing to apply must show evidence of commitment to working in the
public art realm. They must be willing to work as a team, both with other
artists and with members of the public, including children or adults, who
might be involved in projects. Applicants must be prepared to keep records,
both photographic and written (in English) of their involvement in this
project. Applicants must speak English.

The course will be based on Free Form's award winning Cultural Enterprise
@Hothouse training programme. Artists will take part in a creative training
programme with support from Free Form project managers and Tutors. The
artists will work towards 2 Units of accreditation of the National
Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Design Level 3.

Free Form Arts Trust has a long and distinguished career in Public Art and
Regeneration and has set up a six month training course to train young arts
graduates in this field. More information about Free Form can be found at *

The work programme at Free Form will include:

     * Orientation event introducing all key partners involved in the
programme

  *Tour, guided visits and presentation from appropriate training
  providers and businesses

     * Site visits to projects

     *Undertaking vocational training at Free Form

     *Setting up an exhibition at Hothouse, London

     *Private view and launch of exhibition at Hothouse.

During their placement Romanian artists will be mentored by qualified and
experienced artists/trainers, who will also support their work during their
stay.

The aim of these placements for the Romanian artists is to:

     *gain work and life experience in another country

     *widen their occupational skill base

     *increase their chances of finding and creating employment.
