[Nettime-ro] La casa Encendids, Asi se escribe la historia

Tuesday 24th June
at 20 hours at Madrid's La Casa Encendida will be the opening of Así
se escribe la historia

After the hiatus of posthistory, the exhibition attempts to rethink
the writing and representation of history through its repetition, but
not as a farce, but as an insertion of difference in the historic
narrative. The return of repressed subjectivities, conflict around
documents of history, parody and irony of authority, history as
leisure and consumption and a non-narrative writing of history are
examined in the work of Henry VIII's wives, Hito Steyerl, Irina
Botea, Tamar Guimarães, Paco Pomet, Felix Gmelin, Isidoro Valcárcel
Medina, On Kawara, Daniela Comani and An-My Lê.
