Lisanne Hoogerwerf (NL) Èi-a petrecut ultimele douÄ luni Ãn BucureÈti Èi
prin Ãmprejurimi, Ãntr-o rezidenÈÄ organizatÄ de Bucharest
Artists-in-Residence. Ãn timpul celor douÄ luni, artista a cercetat mai
multe zone aflate la periferia oraÈului. Ãn urma interacÈiunilor cu
diferite familii Èi comunitÄÈi, ea a ÃnvÄÈat treptat despre stilul de viaÈÄ
al locuitorilor din aceste zone.
Ãn timpul acestor peregrinÄri Èi ÃntÃlniri, Lisanne Hoogerwerf a realizat
scurte documentare video. Rezultatul este o suitÄ de Ãntalniri spontane
Ãntre camerÄ Èi subiect, subliniÃnd Ãn acelasi timp complicaÈiile care apar
atunci cÃnd un artist strÄin ÃncearcÄ sÄ acceseze o lume fundamental
diferitÄ de a lui.
La sfÃrÈitul perioadei de rezidenÈÄ, artista a compilat o serie de lucrari
video prin care rÄspunde, prin propria sa experienÈÄ, contextului Èi
oamenilor ÃntÃlniÈi. Folosind scurte scenarii fictive, ea aratÄ familiile
Ãntr-o forma construita, metaforicÄ.

La Make a Point, *Reflections from the Wasteland* va prezenta ambele
abordÄri, artista arÄtÃnd diferite metode prin care subiectul poate fi
accesat de cÄtre privitor.

*Make a Point este o AsociaÈie culturalÄ ÃnfiinÈatÄ Ãn anul 2009 de cÄtre
trei oameni de artÄ: criticul de film Viorica Bucur, regizorul de film
documentar MÄdÄlina RoÈca Èi artistul vizual Alma Cazacu, care aduce
cultura mai aproape de oameni. Geografic vorbind. *
*AsociaÈia organizeazÄ expoziÈii, spectacole, proiecÈii de film, seminarii,
workshop-uri Èi este un spaÈiu dedicat expunerii de lucrÄri Èi mesaje ale
creatorilor contemporani Ãntr-un loc aparent inaccesibil artei: o fostÄ
halÄ a PostÄvÄriei RomÃne. In 2012, Make a Point a cÃÈtigat Premiul al

*Reflections from the Wasteland *

Location: Make a Point, Èos. Morarilor nr.1, Sector 2, BucureÈti

Lisanne Hoogerwerf is a young artist from The Netherlands. For two months
she has been working as an artist in residence within Bucharest AiR.
During this twoâmonth period, Lisanne Hoogerwerf has been researching the
neighbourhood she is currently living in. Through walking, conversations
and by visiting different families, she gradually learned about the
lifestyle of the people that live in the area of Voluntari on the outskirts
of Bucharest.
During her encounters, Lisanne Hoogerwerf made short documentary videos.
These documentaries show the spontaneous meetings between the camera and
the subjects, as well as highlighting complications that arose for a
foreign artist trying to gain access to a world that is not her own.
At the end of her stay, the artist made a different series of videos in
which she responds to the environment and the people from her own
experience. Through short fictional scenarios, she shows the same families
in a more metaphorical and constructed manner.

In Make a Point, Lisanne Hoogerwerf will display both filming styles and
approaches. By doing so, she wants to create different angles from which
the viewer can see the subject.

The exhibition can be seen from *April 26th and April 27th, between 12:00 -
18:00. *

*Make a Point este o cultural association founded in 2009 by three people
of art: film critic Viorica Bucur, documentary director MÄdÄlina RoÈca and
visual artist Alma Cazacu, which brings culture closer. Geographically
speaking. *
*The association organizes exhibitions, shows, film screenings, workshops,
public talks and it is a dedicated space for exposing the works and
messages of contemporary creators in a place apparently inaccesible to art
- a former hall of Postavaria Romana Factory. In 2012 Make a Point won the
2nd Prize for Art and Culture at the Civil Society Galla. *
