in the meantime... is a segment between two points. It is not a departure
or an arrival, but a moment that almost functions as a number of stills,
which is isolated from a film and put by itself creating a new situation,
a synchronized state of diverse, seemingly incompatible versions of
realities.

The idea of seeing and synchronizing different versions of realties is
at the heart of the screening, which was firstly presented in conjunction with
exhibition in the meantimeS¯ at the De Appel Stichting in Amsterdam. The
CTP presents the videos and films of six visual artists and filmmakers,
joined in their visual translations of personal confinements and
collective dilemmas, oscillating between comedy, fiction and
documentation.
The visual explorations are about crossing borders of the physical and
surreal, like in Sebastian Diaz Morales film Paralelo 46, or the text
based reflections on personal political incidents of the past, Tracey Rose
literally writes down in her video Sticks & Stones. Gerard Holthuis' film
City at Night (AMS), a thriller without a story line, traces the outlines
of Amsterdam at night following the path of the unseen suspect. In the
meantime the short clips of messieur delmotte, Carola Dertnig and John
Wood and Paul Harrison, will be pinning down the absurdities of daily
>life.
