Was war

Workshop: Mapping Swiss Info Society
In the workshop Geert Lovink and students of SNM (Studienbereich Neue
Medien, HGKZ) investigate the political and economic forces in Switzerland
that drive the Information
Society agenda. For example, who is representing the country in
international bodies such as the Internet task force, ICANN and the Internet
Society? Who is owning the .ch domain name space and what is their policy?
Which international telecoms are active in Switzerland and what has changed
since the crash of their stocks? The project will look for the 'soft'
approaches of the managerial class and their consultants. Who is driving the
Knowledge Society agenda? The aim of the workshop will not be to come up
with a complete overview of the industry. Rather, it offers participants
the freedom to choose their own topics, methodology and display
technologies.
