[rohrpost] CHIANG MAI UPDATE

Dear friends,

As you might know ICECA (Institute for Cultural Exchange & Computer
Arts) organized the First New Media Art Festival in Chiang Mai,
Thailand, from 28th March-15th April 2003. Now that the accompanying
website has been relaunched we invite everyone to take a look at the
events:

	http://iceca.chiangmai.ac.th

Although the festival faced a couple of difficulties it nonetheless can
be named a milestone in the development of public awareness of &
interest in new media art. Watch out for an in-depth review & ongoing
coverage of the events mostly at nettime-li@bbs.thing.net

Other news:

The CMU Art Museum issued a letter of intent confirming long term
cooperation with ICECA providing space for the permanent ICECA Art and
Media Center. The CMU Art Museum also confirmed hosting the next media
art festival (March- April 2004).

The next festival was offered already the collection of works from
"German Video Art 2000 - 20002" which contains 21 works of the video art
award Marl/Germany (supported by Goethe Institute, Bangkok). Works and
performances by Marcel.li Antúnez (http://www.marceliantunez.com) and
Laurence Gartel will also be part of the next festival.

Please forward your own interest in participating at the next media art
festival 2004 in Chiang Mai.
