INTIFADA OFFSPRING

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO www.miklataklitim.com

"INTIFADA OFFSPRING" (the title is taken from an installation by the Israeli artist Ran Slavin) is introducing in a retrospective way the Israeli electronica underground of Jerusalem of the last ten years. Abstract downbeats, documentary vocal fragments, ambient and listening sequences and gorgeous pop thumbsketches are creating a sound microstructure, whose subtext is telling a story of it´s own about the situation in Jerusalem.

WEICHSELBAUM - FINKELSTIEN - GRUNEWALD - ZOLOKOVSKI
(aka Eran Sachs - no-input mixer, Aviad Albert - computer,

present: "YANOON YANOON"

"Yanoon Yanoon" is a sound/visual improvisation, which portrays the isolate village Yanoon in the west-bank, using only two sound mixers and two video cameras. The music comes from an analogue mixer that produces sounds by feeding its silent channels back into themselves, thus creating a feedback system ("no-input-mixing-board"). The system produces complex rhythm and tone structures, which are then manipulated live through a digital mixer that processes the noises in real time. All the visual footage was taken by the group members and by peace activists in Yanoon and in other villages of the west bank, and later reworked live during the performance. The music is intended to reflect the intensity of the situation portrayed in the video.
The project "Yanoon Yanoon" was inspired by the film "Jenin Jenin" created by Arab Israeli Muhammad Bakri. "Yanoon Yanoon" was featured in the Israeli "Sonic Process" 2003.
