Hello Syndicatelists,
APEXchanges (Arts Mobility for Central and Eastern Europe) is an
initiative of the European Cultural Foundation, which supports joint
cross-border projects emerging in the fields of visual arts (painting,
sculpture, photography), new media and performing arts (theatre, dance,
music) by financing travel costs. Annually, APEXchanges provides
about 100 individual travel awards and about 20 project awards.
APEXchanges strives for an informal, helpful and friendly approach in its
communication style.
Individual artists and art organizers are awarded APEXchanges travel
grants on the basis of an assessment by the APEXchanges evaluation
committee. The committee consists of three arts experts, dedicated and
enthusiastic, as they work for APEXchanges voluntarily.
APEXchanges is currently looking for a new committee member. We
would therefore like to ask your advice on potential new members of
APEXchanges evaluation committee.
Ideally, the future member of the committee would meet the following
criteria:
- professional orientation in new media and/or performing arts
- preferred geographical base in Romania or Bulgaria
- awareness of present art scenes in Europe
- extensive experience and links to various European arts networks
In return APEXchanges offers:
- involvement in the Foundation's policy formation on the APEXchanges
funds
- European cultural network
- the cover of travel and accommodation costs for annual meetings 11According to APEXchanges' policy members of the evaluation committe and their collegues can not benefit from the APEXchanges travel grants.
The APEXchanges evaluator assesses applications approximately every
second week. The main means of communication between APEXchanges
and the committee are fax and e-mail.
We would be very pleased to hear from you if you know any suitable
candidates for the position of APEXchanges evaluator. You can ask the
person interested to send a letter and CV before 31 January 2000 to the
coordinator of APEXchanges: Madelon Cabooter or contact
APEXchanges directly.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Madelon Cabooter
