...................................................
1.1. Dialtones - A Telesymphony, Golan Levin/USA
...................................................

September 2, 9:00 PM, Brucknerhaus

A concert performance in which all of the sounds are wholly produced through
the choreographed ringing of the audience's own cell phones. Dialtones
presents a diverse range of unprecedented sonic phenomena and musically
interesting structures and inverts our understanding of private sound,
public space and electromagnetic etiquette.

Collaborating artists:
Scott Gibbons, Greg Shakar, Yasmin Sohrawardy, Joris Gruber
Supported by: The Greenwall Foundation, The Daniel Langlois Foundation,
Cellphoneart.com, Design Machine NYC, jet2web Telekom Austria, jet2web
Mobilkom, NOKIA

...................................................
1.2. Ridin' A Train, feat. Thilges3/A, XDV.org/A, Se?r Coconut/Chile
...................................................

September 5, 9:00 PM

Ridin' A Train is an annual festival feature those in the know always look
forward to. This year, industrial area serve as a performance space where
tonal sculptors, "expanded" artists and music morphologists will present
extreme manifestations of electronic and pop music.

Thilges 3 are acoustic sculptors who generate temporary tonal sculptures
with analog sound modules. XDV.ORG is a casual coalition of musicians, video
artists and programmers. Se?r Coconut Y Su Conjunto is an eccentric fusion
of Kraftwerk and Latin American music, a dance course as free-form variation
on the theme El Baile Aleman.

Concept: Fadi Dorninger/A

...................................................
1.3. Ryoji Ikeda/J in Concert
...................................................

September 4, 9:00 PM, Brucknerhaus

The expressive power of the minimalistically penetrating tonal strata and
precise visual elements of Matrix [for rooms] produces a sensitive,
intensely stimulating ambience. The performance opens up extraordinary audio
dimensions and tests our perception of space and time, sound and light.

Nomination Prix Ars Electronica, Digital Musics

...................................................
1.4. Down with the Messy Gearhound Fiesta, fLeetwood Macintosh/USA
...................................................

September 6, 9:00 PM, Posthof

The musical highlight at the finale of Ars Electronica.
Featuring all live sets from tigerbeat6's bLectum from bLechdom, Lesser,
kid606, and the world debut of the laptop supergroup fLeetwood Macintosh.

...................................................

Live Performances
September 2, 8:00 PM, Brucknerhaus - Donaupark: Vladislav Delay
September 4, 9:45 PM, Brucknerhaus - Donaupark: Luomo

Klangpark 2001 transforms the Donaupark into an impressive acoustic
environment - music for a river and for passers-by. With his sound designs
over Klangpark Vladislav Delay trys to achieve the reactions in public space
between one and the others in infinite ways.

...................................................

topologies. By means of a trick, they create a link between quantum theory
and the theory of relativity. A dance performance revolving around the
deconstruction of matter.
