Artificial Image Award, Berlin Deadline : 31st July 2010
Initiated by Michael Maria Müller, the award aims to encourage photographers to think about their own exhibition. By placing photographs in frames, the photographer may imagine an ideal setting for a possible exhibit. The selected participant will win a high quality set of digitally printed photographs and an exhibition of his/her works during the European Month of Photography in Berlin (October 15th- November 28th, 2010). The Festival Belluard Bollwerk International and the Migros Culture Percentage are looking for artistic projects that are dealing with hope. At the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century hope seems to occupy centre stage on the political and cultural scene. Though a lot of the time no more than a rhetoric strategy to get people in line on issues like ecological doom, global confusion or political terror, a contemporary understanding of hope might prove to be a useful strategy in constructing a different perspective on our social and artistic attitudes. Exhibitions 2011 - Hordaland Art Centre, Norway Deadline: September 10th 2010Curators of all nationalities are invited to propose an exhibition for Hordaland Art Centre, Bergen, Norway for the 2011-programme. 2011 marks the 35th year of the Hordaland Art Centre, and we are creating a programme exploring ideas of histories and futures. Exhibition - 2011 and 2012, Karlin Studios, Prague Deadline: July 30th 2010Following the renovation of a large factory in Karlín, a former industrial quarter in Prague 8, there was created a unique complex of art studios and galleries called Karlin Studios that became the first of its kind in Prague.
