[Nettime-bold] Hybrid Discourse

Expanding Territory: Culture Industry and Digital Media

Hybrid-Discourse (www.i-dat.org/hybrid/projects) is a series of events
investigating current cultural debates in the context of digital media.
Focusing on key issues such as relations between art and industry, emerging
cultural, commercial and hybrid practices as well as new models of
institutional practices this program seeks to re-address critical terms of
Adorno and Horkheimer's original concept of the culture industry in a
current context.

In response to this invited speakers will explore various areas of cultural
practice including cultural criticism, artistic, curatorial an
entrepreneural practice.

Speakers include Sally Jane Norman, Jeremy Valentine, Josephine Bosma,
Jordan Crandall, Neil Cummings,Marysia Lewandowska,
Simon Ford, Elisa Giaccardi ,Clive Gillman, Volker Grassmuck,
Marina Grzinic Mauhler, Olia Lialina, Paul D. Miller, Anne Nigten,
Kate Rich, ®ark, Soda, Piotr Krajewski and Violetta Kutlubasis-Krajewska

All events will take place in Plymouth, UK but everything will be webcast
and archived on the Hybrid Discourse web site. There will also be a
discussion board on the site so that those who can not be present in
Plymouth can contribute to the conversations and debates.
